Overview

This essential event is specifically designed to give you the experience you need of managing a council, but in a safe and supportive environment.

The LGC Challenge is open to teams of four to six middle managers from local authorities across the UK.  Teams will spend the day as the management team of a fictional local authority. 

They will have to devise strategies, meet with partnership organisations and political figures and demonstrate that they understand what it takes to transform the way the council works to enable it to be flexible in changing circumstances.  Teams will be given extensive feedback during and after the event to enable them to build on their strengths and weaknesses back in their organisations.
